Join us in our
second Sensuous Line Member Photo Shoot Sept. 25, 26, and 27, 1998 at the Valley View Hot

are not able to book accommodations more than 60 days in advance. Sorry we can't
give you more notice about this event.) Meet other members and contributors to the
magazine. Participate in two days of shooting featuring Bodyscape models in a variety of
settings, including Apsen groves (which may be in fall colors), a mine and ghost
town, and Valley View's own beautiful hot springs.
Your price of only US$299.99 covers all accommodations, food and model fees. You will pay for all of your film and processing and transportation to and from Valley View.
We will be staying as guests of Valley View Hotsprings, a clothes optional hot springs resort, and/or a lovely bed and breakfast a short distance away in Valley Grove, CO. Valley View Hot Springs is located on the western slope of the Sangre de Cristo mountains in southern Colorado with a spectacular view of the San Luis Valley. First used by the Ute Indians, it was homesteaded before Colorado statehood. The springs were developed as a resort in the early part of this century when the cabins and original swimming pool were built.
Today, the unspoiled beauty and the freedom of a clothing optional environment contributes to Valley View's peaceful ambiance. It is a rustic and natural setting for soaking, swimming and camping. The adjacent Wilderness Area provides abundant opportunities for hiking and mountain climbing. People of all ages enjoy Valley View, with many families visiting especially during the summer.
Peaceful
soaking is available in any of four natural ponds scattered across the hillside. The water
temperature varies from 80 to 98 degrees. The large swimming pool has 85 degree water
flowing through at all times and no chlorine.
All the water is clean and pure with no sulfurous odor. In addition to the hillside ponds, there is also a woodburning sauna with a small pool inside. There is a clothing optional policy in the water and on the grounds. A central coed restroom serves all accommodations -and campers.
Our location at 8,700 feet above sea level means the nights are always cool and the sunshine can be very strong. In late September, during this event, the weather can be unpredictable. It may be 75 degrees during the day or may be snowing. In either case it will be cold at night. We will shoot as long as it is not actually snowing. Those who have shot after a snow say that the results of the nude model combined with warm, steamy water against the snow is an unbeatable combination. Please bring warm clothing, sun protection, rain gear, towels, insect repellent and flashlights. The nearest store, fuel, restaurants and other lodging are located in Villa Grove, which is 12 miles away.
Food will be chuck wagon style, cooked by our cook, Bob Smith. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements. Meals will be provided for Friday night, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch. Check in time will be noon on Friday; check out at 3:00pm on Sunday.
The staff and models will be bunking in cabins at Valley View. Workshop members have their choice of sharing bunks four to room at Valley View Resort or more comfortable rooms at the bed and breakfast in Valley Grove. Those who might be uncomfortable bunking with others or sharing communal coed bath facilities are encouraged to stay at the bed and breakfast.
The Schedule of Events
We will be arriving at Valley View on Friday afternoon. Dinner will be provided. During the afternoon you are free to explore the hotsprings environment. Bring your towel! Most of the other guests will be nude. You are expected to respect the unique culture of this resort. The best way you can do this is by taking off your clothes and joining in the swimming pool, sauna, and pools of hot steamy water that surround the resort.
You will notice that there are no locks on any doors. Part of the culture is honesty and respect for others' property. You won't have to worry about theft here. And sometimes that takes a little getting used to! Following an early dinner by our gourmet chuck wagon chef, we will spend a few hours shooting. The evenings are beautiful and the highlight of the shoot will be sunset in the pools. As you can see from the above photo by Boyd Fellows, the possibilities are vast. Bring your portfolios to share with others at dinner.
On Saturday we will spend the day in and around Bonanza, CO., a short trip from the hot springs. Bonanza was once a booming mining town which quickly declined at the beginning of the century. The area is full of old mines, beautiful views of the mountains, streams, ponds and the densest aspen groves we've ever seen. If we are lucky to have fall colors during this event, you will enjoy a spectacular explosion of color. We will begin shooting after breakfast. Bob will be preparing lunch on location. Early afternoon you are free to explore the area, or lay back and take a nap. Later in the afternoon we will explore a new area for a few more hours of shooting. We will have dinner out under the open skies before retiring for the day.
Sunday morning after breakfast we will have a few more hours to shoot at the hot springs. Last year this was when we had some of the best shooting! Check out time will be 12:00 noon. A simple lunch will be provided.
TravelParticipants are responsible for getting to and from Valley View at their own expense. The nearest airport is Colorado Springs and we understand there are a number of really good deals right now to and from the Springs from many cities. Rental cars are available at the airport. It is a 1.5 to 2 hour drive to the hot springs. We will provide directions when you book.
We have limited space available so please reserve your spot early. Total fees are due at time of reservation. You must cancel 30 days in advance to receive a refund. Unfortunately we will not be able to refund your fee if you cancel after that, unless we are able to fill your spot from the waiting list.
Limit of

However, once we start, we will have to make the best of any inclimate weather. No refunds will be given on account of bad weather unless, of course, the resort is closed because of a major storm.
