Guerrero Negro is located on the 28th parallel. It separates the states of Baja California Norte and Baja California Sur. The largest attractions here are the popular whale-watching tours, and the local Indian art. Exportadora de Sal or Salt Exporter, the largest salt-producing company in the world, is the major employer for Guerrero Negro. It produces nearly 6.5 million metric tons per year. Mitsubishi Corporation owns 49% of the company.
