  • Motorcycle had been down and his foot peg was stuck in the folded position. Fixed it
  • 706 chase truck rear axle vent tube had fallen out break line was flopping in the breeze. Fixed it
  • 54A Weatherman reported rider down (went into a barbed wire fence at speed) with severe cuts and bleeding 4 miles up course and the chopper was tied up on another call. Dispatched our E.M.T. in a Pre-runner with his trauma kit. He bandaged up the guy and settled him down determining that injuries were not life threatening we canceled the chopper request. The guy was mad at the time cause he was in pain but It may have saved someone else's life and the rider $6000 for the chopper ride.
  • 66 Jason Baldwin right front tire change.
  • 1217 clutch slave cylinder had blown apart. Fixed it.
  • 1210 sputtered into our pit on 2 cylinders. Diagnosed lean condition straightened distributor rotor and bypassed fuel pressure regulator.
  • Riviera Chase gave directions.
  • 902 clutch adjustment.
  • 17 loaned tire to race car, tire change
  • 862 Tie rod end replacement
  • Tire change on one of our mobile units
  • Mexican class 1 tire change
  • 500 tire change Checker car
  • 1218 blown clutch out of race Radio relay. Repaired amber light. Gave directions.
  • 706 Broken wishbone mount temporary repair (could have got him back in race with a welder)
  • 62A loose gas tank strapped it down.

While all this was going on I made shrimp and egg buritos with onions, green peppers, mushrooms, Guacamole and fresh salsa. We had twenty people in our pit so while the crew was fixing stuff the rest of the guys were drinking Clamatos and slapping stickers on every car that came into our pit wile picking the barb-Qd tip out of their teeth with the little plastic toothpicks that come in the mini Swiss Army Knives.
